Young Inter Milan midfielder Giovanni Fabbian has been named as the MVP for Serie B side Reggina after spending an outstanding season on loan with the Calabrian club.

The Granate announced that Fabbian has been given the award in a post on their official Twitter account.

Fabbian joined Reggina on loan at the start of the current season.

Just nineteen at the time that he joined, Fabbian had shone for Inter’s Primavera team last season. The midfielder had been one of the key players in the Nerazzurri winning the Under-19 Scudetto.

However, Fabbian was unproven at the senior level.

It was Reggina coach Filippo Inzaghi, the brother of Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi and a legendary former AC Milan and Juventus striker, who decided to take a chance on Fabbian.

To say that Filippo and Reggina have been rewarded for taking a chance on the midfielder would be an understatement.

The Calabrians have reached the playoff rounds for promotion to Serie A. Whilst their form over the whole season hasn’t quite followed their blistering early season pace, Reggina could earn a place in the top flight.

And Fabbian has been at the heart of it every step of the way.

Inter Starlet Giovanni Fabbian On Napoli, Lazio & Atalanta Radars After Outstanding Reggina Loan Spell

Fabbian’s excellent form for Reggina this season has meant that a number of teams in Serie A are interested in his signature.

Most persistently linked have been Atalanta. La Dea are big fans of Fabbian, and the 20-year-old could reportedly be offered as part of a deal for Giorgio Scalvini.

Meanwhile, Napoli are also keen on Fabbian’s signature.

Then, Lazio are reportedly considering asking for Fabbian to be part of a swap deal for defender Francesco Acerbi.

The 20-year-old’s excellent loan season at Reggina should give a clear indication as to why these clubs are interested.
