Young Inter Milan goalkeeper Filip Stankovic has been named as MVP for his season on loan at Volendam, whilst his Nerazzurri teammate Gaetano Oristanio has been awarded with the “Best Talent” distinction.

The Eredivisie clubs announce the awards for the Inter-owned duo in a post on their official Twitter account.

Stankovic and Oristanio have both completed their second season on loan with Volendam.

Both of the two joined the Dutch side on loan at the start of last season, following in the footsteps of striker Samuele Mulattieri from the prior campaign.

When Stankovic and Oristanio joined, Volendam were in the Eerste Divisie, the second division of Dutch football.

However, the Inter-owned pair helped Volendam to achieve promotion to the top flight.

Last season, the decision was made for Stankovic and Oristanio to stay on loan for a second season, now in the Eredivisie.

The Dutch side were happy to keep hold of the duo for another season. Meanwhile, both players took the chance to continue their development in a familiar environment.

Inter Duo Stankovic & Oristanio Named As Outstanding Volendam Players

The decision to keep Stankovic and Oristanio at Volendam has proved a beneficial one for all parties.

For the players, they have taken their first steps at a top flight level, incrementally, and thrive. This has also proved a shrewd decision from Inter’s perspective.

Meanwhile, for Volendam, the Dutch side have kept their top flight status in their first campaign back up.

The newly-promoted side did not enjoy an easy start to the campaign. However, Stankovic and Oristanio’s performances stood out even as the team’s form as a whole was rocky.

Then, over the second half of the campaign, the pair have helped Volendam to climb to a 14th-place finish, eight points clear of the relegation playoff spot and seven clear of automatic relegation.

Keeper Stankovic is the club’s MVP this season while Oristanio won the “Best Talent” award at the club.
