Inter Milan are targeting Real Madrid’s Nacho Fernandez, Lille’s Tiago Djalo, and Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard to replace PSG bound Milan Skriniar during the summer transfer window.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report on the Nerazzurri’s strategy in defense for next season.

Inter have a number of decisions to make in defense ahead of next season.

The biggest one concerns replacing Skriniar. The Slovakian will join Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer at the end of this month, leaving a big hole in the Nerazzurri’s back three.

Inter Keen On Nacho, Djalo & Pavard For Post-Skriniar Defense

According to CM, Inter are already in talks with Real Madrid man Nacho. The 33-year-old could leave the Satiado Bernabeu on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, Lille defender Djalo is another player who the Nerazzurri are already in talks with. The 23-year-old is currently out with a knee injury. However, Inter see him as a potential replacement for Skriniar in the long term.

Lastly, there is Bayern defender Pavard.

The 27-year-old French international’s current contract with the German champions runs out at the end of next June. However, he is not keen on signing an extension.

Accordingly, Bayern could cash in on Pavard while they have the chance rather than losing him for free next summer.

If Bayern sell Pavard, Inter would be keen.

Futures Of Acerbi & De Vrij Still To Be Decided

Meanwhile, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij still need to have their futures at Inter clarified.

Inter want to sign Acerbi on a permanent basis from Lazio. The 35-year-old’s agent Federico Pastorello confirmed as much.

However, the Nerazzurri do not want to pay the full €4 million fee specified in the purchase option in his loan deal.

Meanwhile, only a few weeks remain for Inter to negotiate a new contract with de Vrij.

The Dutchman’s current deal runs out at the end of the month. According to CM, however, Inter and de Vrij are moving towards an agreement on an extension.
