Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has agreed terms on a contract extension until the end of June 2027.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the only thing left now is the announcement, as the negotiations are all complete for the Turkish international.

Securing the Turkish international’s future is reportedly a priority for Inter. His current deal runs out at the end of next June, but he is reportedly close to signing until the end of June 2027.

The player himself has confirmed this.

Former AC Milan midfielder Calhanoglu expressed his happiness at being a Nerazzurri player. He made clear that he wants to stay and will commit his future imminently.

The Turk has made 48 appearances for Inter across all competitions this season. Last season, his first at the club, saw him make 46 in total.

Calhanoglu is not the only player who Inter are working to tie down on a new deal soon.

Extending defender Alessandro Bastoni‘s deal is a major priority. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are also working to extend the contract of his fellow defender Stefan de Vrij.

However, in these two cases, there is still a bit of work to be done in talks before the club and put the finishing touches on the two new contracts.

The Corriere report that these talks will take place after the Champions League final.

In the case of Calhanoglu, by contrast, the negotiations are all wrapped up.

The 29-year-old will commit his future to Inter soon, there is no doubt. It’s only a matter of when the official announcement takes place.

Calhanoglu has emerged as a key player in midfield for Inter this season. The Turk has thrived in a new role at the base of the Nerazzurri’s midfield.
