Inter Milan have lined up a move for Spezia striker M’Bala Nzola this summer as a potential replacement for Joaquin Correa.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908, who report that the 26-year-old Angolan international would cost around €18 million from relegation-threatened Spezia.

Inter are likely to have to sign at least one forward during the summer transfer window.

This is because Joaquin Correa will almost certainly leave the club. The Argentine has never really established himself at the Nerazzurri since joining from Lazio in the summer of 2021. The club’s intention is therefore to shift him on.

Inter have a few targets in mind to potentially replace Correa.

Tigre and Italy striker Mateo Retegui is foremost among the Nerazzurri’s targets in attack. La Repubblic note that the 23-year-old would cost around €18 million.

Inter Milan Have Eyes On Spezia Talisman M’Bala Nzola

Retegui is not the only forward who Inter are keen to sign however, according to La Repubblica.

The newspaper name Spezia striker Nzola as one of their main alternatives to the Italian.

This season, Nzola has been a talismanic figure for Speizia in Serie A.

The 26-year-old has scored a total of thirteen goals in the league over the course of the campaign. There is no doubt that Nzola’s goals as well as overall performances and holdup play have been key to Spezia avoiding automatic relegation to Serie B.

Nzola also scored a late penalty against Inter in March. This capped off an excellent individual display by the Angolan, and secured a famous 2-1 win over the Nerazzurri.

Given that the Ligurians have finished level on points with Hellas Verona, they will face a relegation playoff next week.

Whether or not Spezia manage to stay up, however, La Repubblica report that Nzola is likely to leave the club.

The newspaper report that the Ligurians want €18 million for him – the same fee that Inter would have to pay for Retegui.
