Fenerbahce have offered a two-year contract to Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko to join on a free transfer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Reporting on his homepage, the Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert adds that Dzeko prefers to stay at Inter.

As things stand, Dzeko’s contract at Inter is set to run out at the end of this month.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly been pushing to agree on a one-year extension with the Bosnian international. However, as of yet Dzeko has not put pen to paper on a new deal.

For the moment, the player’s priority is the same as that of everyone else in Inter’s squad – the Champions League final.

The 37-year-old is gearing up to start against his former team Man City. The Bosnian, who has also played for Roma and Wolfsburg, is reportedly the favourite to start in attack in the final.

Di Marzio: Fenerbahce Want To Sign Edin Dzeko On Free Transfer

According to Di Marzio, Fenerbahce are keen to sign Dzeko for next season.

The Istanbul-based side want to make the 37-year-old Bosnian international a key player in attack moving forward. They are aiming to build a team strong enough to compete for the league title next season after missing out to Galatasaray this time around.

La Repubblica have already reported on Fenerbahce’s interest in signing Dzeko.

The newspaper report that a meeting could take place after the Champions League final in Istanbul.

However, for his part, Dzeko’s priority is not to join the Turkish giants.

According to Di Marzio, the former Giallorossi man is keen to remain at Inter. He still feels that he has plenty left to give at the highest level.

At the moment, Dzeko is waiting for the Nerazzurri’s contract extension offer.

According to Di Marzio, the striker will await the offer after the Champions League final. He is still aiming to sign a new deal to stay at Inter.
