Turkish giants Fenerbahce have met with the agent of Inter Milan striker Edin Dzeko to offer a big-money two-year contract.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Istanbul club have already made their proposal to the 37-year-old, who they would see as a replacement for former Cagliari captain Joao Pedro.

As things stand, Dzeko’s contract at Inter is set to run out at the end of this month.

The Nerazzurri have reportedly been pushing to agree on a one-year extension with the Bosnian international. However, as of yet Dzeko has not put pen to paper on a new deal.

Reportedly, Inter and Dzeko still have to hold decisive contract talks. According to reports, the Nerazzurri want to offer the 37-year-old a one-year contract extension given his age.

Moreover, Inter don’t want to go too high with their offer of wages on a new deal for Dzeko. Their intent is to give him a similar short-term contract to what AC Milan gave their own veteran striker Olivier Giroud.

Fenerbahce Pushing To Sign Inter Milan Striker Edin Dzeko

However, Fenerbahce are very keen to sign Dzeko.

According to SportMediaset, the Istanbul-based club have already met with the Bosnian’s agent Alessandro Lucci.

They have made clear to the player’s representatives that, unlike Inter, they will offer a two-year deal. Moreover, SportMediaset report, the Turkish team would be ready to offer very large wages to tempt the former Roma and Manchester City star.

According to the broadcaster, former Cagliari forward Joao Pedro is likely to leave Fenerbahce during the summer.

Accordingly, there is a big vacancy in their attack. Dzeko is the player who Fenerbahce hope to fill it with as they look to get back in the hunt for the league title after missing out to Galatasaray during the season just gone.

This season, Dzeko made a total of 52 appearances for Inter, scoring 14 goals in the process. The Bosnian started in the Champions League final for the Nerazzurri.
