Inter Milan will extend the contract of coach Simone Inzaghi until the end of June 2025, and will meet for talks soon.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inzaghi’s current contract runs out at the end of next June.

However, there is virtually no doubt that the Nerazzurri will look to extend the 47-year-old’s deal.

The reason for this is that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has a strong policy of not starting a season with a coach whose contract is one year away from expiring.

Both Marotta and President Steven Zhang have publicly backed Inzaghi to remain next season. As such, the CEO will want to sort out an agreement on a new deal for the coach.

The club have no doubts despite the fact that Inzaghi lost the Champions League final against Man City.

In fact, the 47-year-old earned praise for his mature tactical display up against City coach Pep Guardiola.

Now, the Nerazzurri’s goal is to extend their coach’s contract.

Inter Milan Ready To Extend Contract Of Simone Inzaghi Until 2025

Last summer, Inter handed Inzaghi a one-season contract extension. He had initially joined from Lazio on a two-year deal in 2021.

According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri’s intention is to do the same this time around.

The one-year extension would take the coach until the end of June 2025.

Meanwhile, Tuttosport note that Inter’s goal for next season is to win the Serie A title.

Whilst this season, the Nerazzurri did come within touching distance of glory in Europe, their domestic campaign was very disappointing. This was even the case with both the Supercoppa Italiana and the Coppa Italia.

According to Tuttosport, the club are explicitly extending Inzaghi’s deal on the basis that they feel he can win the Scudetto.

This week, the club will meet with Inzaghi to discuss how they can achieve this.
