Gianluca Di Marzio is expecting that Inter Milan will meet with Simone Inzaghi and extend the coach’s contract very soon.

Reporting live on air yesterday evening, via FCInter1908, Di Marzio anticipated that the meeting to formally extend the coach’s deal will happen within the next couple of days.

Inter’s directors are ready to meet with coach Inzaghi.

The dust has settled on the team’s disappointing 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League final. Preparations are already well underway for next season.

Di Marzio reports that the upcoming meeting will see the club and coach work out their transfer strategy for the summer.

Inter and Inzaghi are both keen to finally win the Serie A title after missing out at the last two attempts.

Inter Milan To Extend Contract Of Simone Inzaghi Soon

There is also the matter of Inzaghi’s contract.

Inzaghi’s current contract runs out at the end of next June.

However, there is virtually no doubt that the Nerazzurri will look to extend the 47-year-old’s deal.

The reason for this is that Inter CEO Beppe Marotta has a strong policy of not starting a season with a coach whose contract is one year away from expiring.

Both Marotta and President Steven Zhang have publicly backed Inzaghi to remain next season. As such, the CEO will want to sort out an agreement on a new deal for the coach.

The club have no doubts despite the fact that Inzaghi lost the Champions League final against Man City.

In fact, the 47-year-old earned praise for his mature tactical display up against City coach Pep Guardiola.

As such, Di Marzio reports, Inter will discuss a new contract for their coach among the topics when they meet.

The club are keen to get a new deal wrapped up for Inzaghi. The ex-Lazio coach will sign an extension until the end of June 2025.
