Young midfielder Kristjan Asllani has no doubt that he wants to stay at Inter Milan despite a relative lack of playing time.

Speaking in a press conference whilst with the Albanian national team, as reported by FCInterNews, the 21-year-old described playing for the Nerazzurri as a “dream.”

Asllani’s first season as an Inter player has been something of a mixed back for the former Empoli midfielder.

On the one hand, the young midfielder has shown glimpses of why the Nerazzurri signed him. Despite his young age, Asllani can already boast a very mature and calm style of play, in and out of possession.

There is still a strong feeling that the 21-year-old can evolve into a top-class Serie A regista.

On the other hand, Asllani has hardly been a regular in the starting eleven. Whilst the Albanian has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Inter, few of these have been starts.

This lack of playing time has led to some rumours and doubts about whether Asllani has a future at Inter. For their part, the Nerazzurri reportedly have zero intention of selling or loaning the Albanian.

Kristjan Asllani: No Doubts About Staying At Inter Milan

“I’m an Inter player and for me it’s a dream,” the 21-year-old said.

“I’m certain that I’ll stay at Inter in the future as well,” he continued.

“I’ve only managed to get on the pitch a few minutes here and there,” Asllani admitted. “But when I look at the other players who are there, it’s like a dream.”

“Now I’ve linked up with the national team, and I want us to do our best.”

Asked about his experience in the Champions League final, Asllani said that “It was an incredible feeling for me to be in that final. It’s not something that every player gets to experience.”

“We would have liked to have won it, but that’s how football is.”
