Simone Inzaghi wants Inter Milan to sign one of either Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi or Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this summer.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that Inzaghi wants to bolster the Nerazzurri’s midfield during the summer transfer window, and that the pair are his two ideal targets to do so.

Inter’s season is over after losing the Champions League final to Manchester City on Saturday. However, the club aren’t waiting around to start planning for next season.

The Nerazzurri directors met with coach Inzaghi this afternoon to start outlining their transfer strategy for the summer.

Roberto Gagliardini will leave Inter on a free transfer when his contract runs out at the end of this month. Meanwhile, the future of Marcelo Brozovic is uncertain.

As such, there are one or two vacancies in Inter’s midfield.

Inzaghi wants a high-quality addition to the squad to replace anyone who leaves in midfield.

Simone Inzaghi Tells Inter To Sign Either Frattesi Or Milinkovic-Savic

According to Sky, Inzaghi has been clear to his club. The 47-year-old ex-Lazo coach wants one of two targets from within Serie A.

One would be Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi.

Inter are reportedly in talks with the Neroverdi about the 23-year-old this evening.

Meanwhile, Juventus and Roma are also very keen on his signature.

Inzaghi’s other major target is a player who he knows very well.

The coach worked with Lazio midfielder Milinkovic-Savic for over five years whilst he had been in charge at the Stadio Olimpico.

With the Serb set to leave the Biancocelesti this summer, Inzaghi would like a reunion.

The former Genk star’s contact with Lazio runs out at the end of June 2024. However, he has no intention of signing an extension.

Accordingly, the club from the Italian capital will try and sell Milinkovic-Savic for a fee this summer while they have a chance.
