Wingback Manuel Lazzari is likely to leave Lazio this summer, and Inter could offer youngster Mattia Zanotti as part of a deal to sign him.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Former SPAL wingback Lazzari, who has made a 155 appearances for Lazio, is no longer the first-choice option on the right flank at the Stadio Olimpico.

The 29-year-old did make 28 appearances in Serie A this season. However, many of these came off the bench.

The likes of Adam Marusic and Elseid Hysaj have come more regular starters in the fullback positions under Maurizio Sarri. Moreover, Lazio have made clear that signing a fullback is one of their summer transfer priority.

Accordingly, it looks as though Lazzari is being crowded out in the Italian capital. An exit appears to be on the cards for the Italian international.

Inter Could Offer Zanotti As Part Of Deal For Lazzari

According to the Corriere, Inter are one potential destination for Lazzari.

Current Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzagh had actually brought the 29-year-old to the Italian capital in 2019. After signing from SPAL, Lazzari was a key component of the starting eleven under Inzaghi.

Given that current Biancocelesti coach Sarri uses a different system and formation than Inzaghi had, things have changed.

However, Inzaghi could fancy a reunion with Lazzari at Inter. Particularly in the event that Denzel Dumfries were to head for the exit door.

Should the Nerazzurri come forward with an interest in Lazio, the Biancocelesti could ask for a young player in return.

Young Nerazzurri fullback Zanotti is on the capital club’s radar.

Lazio are keen to add fresh blood into the team in the fullback positions. They are big admirers of the Nerazzurri youngster.

Accordingly, the Corriere suggested, a swap between Lazzari and Zanotti in the wide areas could be on the cards.
