Inter Milan wingback Federico Dimarco proved that he is a “total player” with his performance for Italy against the Netherlands.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who praise the 25-year-old Nerazzurri star and give him the MOTM tag for his outstanding display down the left flank in a 3-2 Italy win.

Inter star Dimarco was instrumental for Italy as they clinched third place in the Nations League yesterday.

It didn’t take long for the Inter man to open the scoring. He found the back of the net with barely five minutes gone.

Then, the Gazzetta note, Dimarco displayed the full range of his talents.

The 25-year-old was also instrumental in setting up Davide Frattesi for the Azzurri’s second. Moreover, he also had a vital defensive intervention.

Inter Milan Star Federico Dimarco Shines For Italy Vs Netherlands

As he has shown at club level, Dimarco is also becoming indispensable to his national side as well.

The 3-5-2 formation that Italy boss Roberto Mancini has been using certainly suits the Nerazzurri star’s game. This has evidently allowed Dimarco to kick on from his outstanding form at club level.

The 25-year-old’s deliveries into the box from the left side are certainly a major weapon.

This isn’t the only thing that Dimarco has been providing, however. The Inter wingback showed his prowess in front of goal to great effect against the Netherlands.

Moroever, Dimarco’s range of passing and vision of the game have made him a real hub in possession for both Inter and for the Italian national team.

The Gazzetta awarded Dimarco an 8/10 score for his performance.

Netherlands Star Denzel Dumfries Loses Battle With Club Teammate Dimarco

Less impressive, the Gazzetta argues, was Netherlands wingback Denzel Dumfries.

Playing down the right for the Oranje, Dumfries came head-to-head with his Inter teammate Dimarco.

It was certainly the Italian who won that battle decisively. Dumfries was unable to put a stop to his club teammate’s massive influence on the match.

The Gazzetta gave Dumfries a score of just 5/10 in the player ratings.
