Kristjan Asllani has no intention of leaving Inter Milan, on loan or permanently, despite competition for places in midfield.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 21-year-old wants to remain and fight for playing time, even if the potential arrival of Davide Frattesi could mean that this is harder to come by next season.

This season, Asllani’s first at Inter, the Albanian has not played regularly.

He has certainly had his chances, but the former Empoli starlet is behind the more senior players in the pecking order.

The likes of Nicolo Barella, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Marcelo Brozovic have all been key figures. Asllani, by contrast, has mainly been an option from the bench and in less important matches.

Inter’s midfield could be even more congested next season. The Nerazzurri are reportedly keen to sign Sassuolo star Davide Frattesi.

The arrival of Frattesi for a big transfer fee would send a clear signal – the Nerazzurri want plenty of midfield depth.

Even if Marcelo Brozovic were to depart, there would still be four clearly starting-quality players.

Accordingly, one or two questions could arise about how much Asllani would play.

Kristjan Asllani Not Going Anywhere – He Wants Inter Milan Stay

With the prospective midfield depth for next season, suggestions that Asllani could go on loan have arisen.

This would make a certain degree of sense. At the age of 21, playing time could be an important factor in the Albanian’s development.

However, as Tuttosport highlight, the player himself has indicated otherwise. Yesterday Asllani stated that he has zero intention of leaving Inter on loan.

Tuttosport suggest that it’s not impossible that Asllani’s situation could change as the transfer window goes on.

However, the newspaper report, at the moment the player’s plan is very much to stay and fight for his place.
