West Ham United and Everton have both come forward with a possible interest in signing Inter Milan forward Joaquin Correa.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the initial interest is starting to emerge from the Premier League in the out-of-favour Nerazzurri star, who does not want a move to the Turkish Super Lig.
Joaquin Correa has longs looked very likely to leave Inter during the summer transfer window.
According to the Gazzetta, the club directors and coach Simone Inzaghi all agree that it’s time for the Argentine to go.
Inzaghi has been Correa’s main sponsor at the San Siro for some time. It was the coach who brought the forward to Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2021.
However, the player has never really recaptured his form from Lazio, with injuries playing a major role.
Moreover, the fan reception of Correa has deteriorated as his performances have continued to underwhelm. As the Gazzetta notes, Correa has received anything from a frosty reception to outright boos from the San Siro in recent months.
West Ham & Everton Show Interest In Joaquin Correa
It is one thing to want to move a player one, though. And quite another to find a new destination for him.
As the Gazzetta note, Fenerbahce have shown an interest in signing Correa. However, the 28-year-old would have absolutely no intention of moving to the Istanbul-based club. Or to any other team in Turkey.
According to the Gazzetta, Correa would prefer a move to a team in La Liga or the Premier League if he’s to leave Serie A.
Therefore, that is where Inter will focus their search.
The likes of West Ham and Everton have both showed an interest in signing the former Sevilla and Sampdoria star in recent months.
And, according to the Gazzetta, both are coming forward again. Correa could well be bound for the Premier League.
