Barcelona are hoping that Marcelo Brozovic chooses joining them over Al-Nassr despite his agent trying to push through the latter.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, via FCInterNews, who report that now the Blaugranas are counting on the player’s will to try and win the race for the 30-year-old Croatian international.

It now looks virtually inevitable that Brozovic will leave Inter during this summer transfer window.

However, the question of where the 30-year-old heads to is still up in the air.

Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr are pushing to wrap up a deal within the next few days. They are prepared to offer the player massive money to become the latest big name signing in their league.

Al-Nassr are ready to make another offer to Inter soon, hoping that it will be the one that seals the deal.

According to MD, Brozovic’s agent prefers that he accept the move to Al-Nassr. This is because the agent himself would then receive a larger commission than if the player joins Barcelona.

Barcelona Haven’t Given Up On Marcelo Brozovic Despite Al-Nassr Links

Al-Nassr are not the only team to have taken an interest in signing Brozovic, however.

Barcelona are still keen on bringing the 30-year-old in. The La Liga champions have made Brozovic their main target to replace club legend Sergio Busquets.

However, the Blaugranas cannot boast the same kind of financial resources that Al-Nassr do. Accordingly, they are counting on Brozovic personally rejecting an Al-Nassr move and insisting on the switch to the Camp Nou.

Moreover, Inter and Barcelona had discussed a prospective swap between Brozovic and former AC Milan and Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie in January.

Only a few months ago Brozovic being sold would’ve seemed unthinkable. However, the midfielder’s situation at Inter has changed.

The Croat has missed long spells with injuries in the season just gone. Whilst he was out, Hakan Calhanoglu has emerged as a starting-quality option in his position.

Moreover, a rift has reportedly formed between Brozovic and Inter. Management of the midfielder’s injuries are reportedly central to the reason for this.
