Inter Milan have agreed a transfer of midfielder Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr for a fee of €23 million.
This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Ginaluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that everything is in place for the 30-year-old to leave the Nerazzurri and sign a three-year contract with the Saudi Pro League club and that the deal could happen tomorrow.
Al-Nassr have been pushing to sign Brozovic over the past week or so.
The Saudi team have made their offer to both the Nerazzurri and to the player.
To the player, the Saudi Pro League giants are ready to offer €20 million net per season. This would more than double what the player earns at Inter.
Brozovic is reportedly ready to accept this massive money offer.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Pro League side have been steadily increasing their offer to get closer to Inter’s asking price. According to Di Marzio, they can get a deal done for €23 million.
Inter had initially demanded around €25-30 million for the Croat. And Al-Nassr’s offer has quickly crept up to where it needs to be.
Inter Milan To Seal Transfer Of Marcelo Brozovic To Al-Nassr Very Soon
Now, only the final details remain for the clubs, and the player and his representatives, to work out.
Brozovic should become an Al-Nassr player soon.
Di Marzio reports that the clubs could seal the deal as early as tomorrow. With Inter and Al-Nassr having agreed the fee, and Brozovic accepting the Saudi team’s wage offer, all systems are go.
Only a few months ago Brozovic being sold would’ve seemed unthinkable. However, the midfielder’s situation at Inter has changed.
The Croat has missed long spells with injuries in the season just gone. Whilst he was out, Hakan Calhanoglu has emerged as a starting-quality option in his position.
Moreover, a rift has reportedly formed between Brozovic and Inter. Management of the midfielder’s injuries are reportedly central to the reason for this.
Accordingly, Inter have decided that now is the time to cash in.
Barcelona have also shown a strong interest in signing Brozovic this summer. However, it looks as though they will lose the race for his signature to Al-Nassr.
Meanwhile, Inter have reportedly lined up Sassuolo and Italy star Davide Frattesi as Brozovic’s replacement.
