Inter Milan have scheduled a friendly match against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria as part of their preseason plans.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri will play the friendly match against the same team as they had in December, with the fixture scheduled for August 8.
Right now, Inter’s squad are enjoying their holidays after a long season.
The Nerazzurri squad disbursed after the final match of their season, the Champions League final against Manchester City.
Next month, however, the Inter players will reconvene to begin preparations for next season. As part of their preparations, the Nerazzurri will play a number of friendly matches.
Among the team’s plans for preseason are a tour of Japan. There, they will take on Paris Saint-Germain and Al-Nassr in friendly matches.
However, those will not be the only friendlies that the Nerazzurri participate in during their preseason.
Inter Head To Austria For Red Bull Salzburg Clash In August
The Gazzetta report that Inter have also added a friendly against Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg to their schedule.
The friendly match will take place on the eighth of August at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg.
Inter have already faced off against the same opposition in a friendly match recently.
On December 7 of last year, the Nerazzurri faced Red Bull Salzburg in a friendly in Malta. This was part of the teams’ training retreats during the World Cup.
Given the winter World Cup, the club season was halted for a lengthy period for the tournament. Those players from both Inter and Salzburg’s squad not in Qatar for the tournament were part of the match.
Moreover, the friendly was a signifier of increasingly positive relations between the two club.
Inter have set up strong ties with Salzburg Sporting Director Mario Gomez. They reportedly have held a number of transfer talks with the Austrians as part of these friendly relations.
