Al-Alhi putting forward a €20 million bid for Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie could allow the Blaugranas to move for Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.

This according to Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, via FCInterNews, who report that the La Liga giants could well have the cash in their budget to actually make a move for Brozovic if they can receive a big fee for Kessie.

Barcelona have made their interest in signing Brozovic clear.

The La Liga champions have made a replacement for Sergio Busquets a priority for this summer transfer window.

Having seemingly missed out on Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimenti, the Blaugranas have been ready to turn to Brozovic.

Barcelona coach Xavi has even personally spoken with Brozovic on the phone. He has made clear that the La Liga champions consider the Croat a serious target, and of what his place in their sporting project would be.

Accordingly, Brozovic has yet to accept a move to Al-Nassr. Inter have agreed a deal with the Saudi Pro League club.

Al-Alhi Move For Kessie Could Trigger Barcelona Bid For Brozovic

As long as Barcelona are interested, Brozovic may be reluctant to accept the offer of Al-Nassr.

However, the problem is that the Blaugranas have not been able to make Inter or Brozovic an offer without first making sales.

However, Kessie would certainly be a player they’d consider cashing in on. The Ivorian is out of favour at the Camp Nou.

Barcelona had in fact discussed a prospective swap deal with Inter involving Brozovic and Kessie in January.

That move never came to pass. However, it could happen in a more indirect way – the Blaugranas could accept a €20 million bid from Al-Alhi for Kessie, and then use it to make an offer for Brozovic.

Considering Al-Nassr have offered the Nerazzurri €23 million, this would certainly bring them closer to what they need.

A sale of Brozovic would allow Inter to make the move for Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi.
