Inter Milan could move to sign Leeds United winger Willy Gnonto as a replacement for Joaquin Correa this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 19-year-old Italy international is on the Nerazzurri’s list of possible targets in attack to take the place of Correa.

Joaquin Correa has longs looked very likely to leave Inter during the summer transfer window.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi and the club directors all agree that it’s time for the 28-year-old to go.

Inzaghi has been Correa’s main sponsor at the San Siro for some time. It was the coach who brought the forward to Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

However, the player has never really recaptured his form from Lazio, with injuries playing a major role.

West Ham United and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Correa. Meanwhile, the Correa has already rejected a move to Fenerbahce.

Inter Thinking About Leeds Star Gnonto To Replace Correa

If Correa leaves, the Corriere notes, Inter will obviously want to replace him.

The newspaper claims that the Nerazzurri’s priority is to sign a player who can provide similar traits to the Argentine.

Despite the fact that Correra never really made the intended impact at the San Siro, the thinking behind signing him was clear – the former Lazio and Sevilla star can provide a creative spark with his one-on-one dribbling ability when at his best.

Leeds star Gnonto is a player who can certainly provide these qualities.

Moreover, the fact that Leeds were relegated from the Premier League last season means that the 19-year-old should be available.

Inter aren’t the only club interested. Reportedly all of Everton, Freiburg, and Juventus are also keen.

However, the Nerazzurri’s interest in bringing Gnonto, who came through their academy, is there. He is one of the names on their shortlist of possible replacements for Correa.
