Inter Milan consider Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a target, but haven’t moved to sign him for three reasons.

This according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, who report that the 28-year-old Lazio star would be ready to make the move, but that the finances involved in the deal as well as the fact that the Nerazzurri haven’t made major sales yet have meant they haven’t taken the plunge.

With Milinkovic-Savic on the market this summer, it’s natural that Inter are on high alert.

The 28-year-old Serbian international is a long-term target for the Nerazzurri. Moreover, Simone Inzaghi would be all too happy to reunite with the player who he coached for more than five years.

According to Calciomercato, the player concerned would also be keen on making the switch.

The outlet reports that the Nerazzurri already have the green light from the player.

However, at this point the conditions aren’t right for them to make a move for his signature.

Three Reasons Inter Milan Haven’t Moved For Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The first reason Inter haven’t yet made their move for Milinkovic-Savic concerns his price tag.

Even though the Serb’s deal with Lazio runs out next summer and the Biancocelesti know that this could be their final opportunity to cash in on him, they are not offering any cut-price fees as of yet. According to Calciomercato, the club from the Italian capital want €40-50 million.

This would be a very steep asking price for a club in Inter’s financial situation.

Then, there is the fact that Inter haven’t made any major sales yet.

That may be about to change, with Marcelo Brozovic reportedly on the verge of joining Al-Nassr.

However, Inter will still have to do more if they’re to attempt an ambitious swoop for Milinkovic-Savic at the moment.

Lastly, Calciomercacto report, Inter are still prioritizing a move for Sassuolo midfielder Davide Frattesi over one for Milinkovic-Savic.

Even though the Nerazzurri are major admirers of the latter, they consider Frattesi ideal for their technical project. Accordingly, for now at least, trying to get a deal done to sign the Italian international is the priority.

It is highly unlikely that both Frattesi and Milinkovic-Savic would arrive in the same summer.
