Inter Milan wingback Mattia Zanotti has joined Swiss Super League side St. Gallen on loan for next season.

The Nerazzurri confirm this in an announcement on their official site.

Zanotti is considered one of the outstanding talents from Inter’s academy in recent seasons.

The wingback has starred for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera team. In addition, he has also appeared for the senior team under Simone Inzaghi.

Now, Zanotti is starting to show his quality at international level.

The Inter wingback is part of the Italian Under-20 squad at the World Cup last month. He has started regularly for the Azzurri at diffferent youth levels.

Zanotti played a key role in Italy’s 2-1 win over England at the World Cup.

Now, that form for both club and country is starting to attract transfer interest in the young Nerazzurri player.

Inter Starlet Mattia Zanotti Will Join St. Gallen On Loan

During last season, Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar reportedly wanted to sign Zanotti. Meanwhile, for this summer their Dutch rivals PSV have also stepped up with interest, as have Ligue 1 side Lorient.

Lazio are reportedly also interested in the 20-year-old, considering a deal for him which would include Manuel Lazzari going the other way.

However, Inter have made clear that they don’t want to sell Zanotti on a permanent basis.

The 20-year-old is still a player who the Nerazzurri want to hold onto for the future. His contract with the Nerazzurri runs until the end of June 2025.

However, Zanotti will need to start getting regular experience in senior football.

Swiss Super League team St. Gallen will be the side to give the Nerazzurri youngster that. They have brought him in on loan for the upcoming season.

St. Gallen finished sixth in the Swiss top flight last season.

Zanotti joins the Swiss team on a loan which will expire at the end of June 2024.
