Roberto Samaden admits that leaving Inter Milan wasn’t easy, but also had no trouble being convinced by the offer of Atalanta.

Speaking whilst being in his new role as the director of Atalanta’s youth academy, via FCInterNews, the 57-year-old gave his thoughts on what it means to end his long Nerazzurri adventure and start a new one in Bergamo.

Samaden has left his role as the director of the youth academy to take on the same role for Atalanta.

Reportedly, all of Inter CEO Beppe Marotta, Sporting Director Piero Ausilio, and President Steven Zhang attempted to persuade him to change his mind.

However, the veteran director decided on a change of scenery after an association with Inter of more than three decades.

Inter have moved on by appointing Massimo Tarantino as the replacement for Samaden.

And for his part, Samaden has decided on where his own next steps will be.

The 57-year-old had been reported to be close to taking a role within the Italian FA. However, he has instead decided to join Atalanta, who have made his appointment official.

La Dea have long been renowned for the quality of their youth system.
