The agent of midfielder Davide Frattesi has revealed that there were talks with AC Milan, but that Inter Milan moved faster.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Telelombardia, via FCInterNews, the 23-year-old’s agent Beppe Riso noted that the Nerazzurri were the team who ultimately showed the greater urgency to get the deal done, hence why they’ve won the race for the player’s signature.

Inter have been chasing Frattesi for much of the summer transfer window so far.

The 23-year-old has always looked to be the Nerazzurri’s priority target in midfield, though signing him needed some work.

AC Milan also reportedly considered joining the race to sign Frattesi after selling Sandro Tonali to Newcastle United.

The cash from the sale of Tonali would have made the Rossoneri formidable rivals for Frattesi’s signature. However, Riso himself has already confirmed that Frattesi always preferred a move to Inter.

Over the past month or so, Inter have never lost sight of their pursuit of Frattesi. They have kept in contact with Sassuolo, and they’ve been sure to persuade the player.

And this, it would seem, has been the most decisive factor in Frattesi becoming a Nerazzurri player.

Agent: AC Milan Showed Interest In Davide Frattesi But Inter Moved Decisively

Frattesi’s agent observed that “During a lunch meeting we had with Milan, we talked about him. However, by that point time was running out.”

“Inter were moving much faster,” Riso continued. “And we were already close to moving there.”

“So we decided to wrap up a deal.”

Now, Frattesi will be an Inter player next season.

The 23-year-old has reportedly signed a five-year deal to join Inter from Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri will reportedly sign Frattesi on an initial paid loan deal for a fee of €5 million.

Then next summer there is an obligation to buy the midfielder for €22 million. Meanwhile, striker Samuele Mulattieri joins the Neroverdi, valued at €6 million in the deal.

Lastly, Inter could pay up to €5 million in performance-related add-ons for Frattesi.
