Sassuolo have raised the price tag for midfielder Davide Frattesi to €40 million as AC Milan are ready to rival Inter Milan and Juventus.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported on air moments ago via FCInter1908 that the Neroverdi will increase their asking price from €35 million now that the Rossoneri are thinking about joining the race.

Inter have been working to sign Frattesi this summer.

Reports have suggested that the Nerazzurri are trying to negotiate a fee of around €35 million. Part of this total valuation could be covered by the inclusion of a player like Samuele Mulattieri.

Earlier today, Sassuolo reportedly met with Juventus, and with Frattesi’s agent Beppe Riso. After those meetings, Inter still looked to be the team in pole position to sign the 23-year-old.

However, the situation could be changed should Milan enter into the race.

Sassuolo Hike Up Frattesi Price As Milan Join Inter & Juventus In Pursuit

The Rossoneri look set to complete a massive money sale of midfielder Sandro Tonali to Newcastle. Di Marzio reports that this deal could be done for around €70 million plus €5 million in add-ons.

Accordingly, Milan will be looking for a like-for-like replacement for Tonali. Moreover, they will be flush with cash.

Sassuolo are well aware of the significance of this.

The Emilians will use the newfound competition generated by Milan’s entry into the race to their advantage.

This could prove to be a very significant development for Inter, who’ve been working on a deal for Frattesi.

The Nerazzurri’s plan has reportedly been to complete a sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr. Then, they would look to reinvest the fee from a sale of the Croat to sign Frattesi.

However, with the fee for Frattesi now rising, it’s unclear whether Inter will be able to keep up.
