Inter Milan are still the favourites to sign Davide Frattesi after the player’s agent held a meeting with Sassuolo.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri are still ahead of the likes of Juventus in particular to sign the 23-year-old.

Early this evening, Juventus Sporting Director Giovanni Mann met with Sassuolo to discuss Frattesi, reports Di Marzio.

The Bianconeri are still holding out hope of signing the Italian international, in spite of Inter reportedly leading the charge.

Accordingly, Manna met with Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali to discuss the possibility.

Then, after Manna had left following his meeting with Carnevali, Frattesi’s agent Riso arrived. Riso also spoke with Carnevali about the 23-year-old Azzurri star’s future.

According to Di Marzio, the outcome of the meetings this evening was that Inter are still the favourites to sign Frattesi.

He explains that this does not however mean that anything is set in stone.

Juventus and Roma are still keen on Frattesi.

Inter Milan Still Lead The Way For Davide Frattesi Despite Juventus Interest

The Nerazzurri have been working to try and sign Frattesi over the past couple of weeks.

Reportedly, the Neroverdi starlet is Inter’s priority target to strengthen in midfield.

With Marcelo Brozovic looking close to the exit door amid Al-Nassr interest, Inter will need to sign a midfielder. Frattesi has been on their radar since last season, but now looks to be the time when they will make their move.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri are reportedly also among the teams interested in signing Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Frattesi and Milinkovic-Savic could be among the players involved in a game of musical chairs between some of Serie A’s top midfielders this summer.

Other midfielders who could be on the move include Brozovic, Inter superstar Nicolo Barella, Juventus man Adrien Rabiot, and AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali.
