Inter Milan are pushing to sign both Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer to replace Andre Onana.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the former should cost the Nerazzurri around €10 million, whilst the latter will be just over €5 million.

A deal between Inter and Manchester United to sell Onana now looks close at hand.

The Red Devils have had a couple bids turned down for the Cameroonian. However, they have been swiftly raising their offer and could wrap up a deal to sign Onana by midway through next week.

The fee for Onana should be in excess of €50 million.

And Inter, for their part, will not wait around to sign a replacement for Onana once they have that fee.

Inter Milan To Go After Trubin & Onana To Replace Man United-Bound Onana

The designated successor to Onana is Shakhtar keepeer Trubin.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian international is a young profile with room to grow, but also has significant international and Champions League experience despite his young age.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter have already been moving along in talks with both Shakhtar and with Trubin’s representative.

A meeting between Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta and agent and intermediary Edoardo Crnjar a few days ago was a big step.

The Gazzetta reports that Inter are poised to sign Trubin for around €10 million. They will just wait on receiving the fee for Onana as a trigger to do so.

Another player who Inter want to move fast to sign is Bayern keeper Sommer.

Samir Handanovic is set to leave Inter with his contract up. The Nerazzurri will therefore have to replace their captain.

As such, Inter will push to bring in 34-year-old Swiss international veteran Sommer. The ex-Borussia Monchengladbach can provide a more experienced presence in goal compared to Trubin.

Inter’s intention is to have both Trubin and Sommer in their squad next season. On the one hand, the pair can battle it out for the starting squad. But on the other, the latter can mentor the former who Inter are grooming as the long-term player in the role.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter want one of Trubin or Sommer immediately available for the start of their preseason.
