Young Inter Milan midfielder Gateano Oristanio is one step away from joining newly-promoted Cagliari on loan.

This according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda, via FCInterNews, who report that the 20-year-old will join the Rossoblu on a loan deal containing both a purchase option and also a buyback clause.

Oristanio is now close to becoming a Cagliari player next season.

Oristanio’s agent has already confirmed that he’ll be playing in Serie A next campaign.

Two promoted clubs had already reportedly taken an interest in loaning the Inter midfielder, in the form of Genoa and Frosinone.

However, it looks to be the Rossoblu who are moving quickly to secure a deal to sign the young midfielder.

The Sardinians have been working quickly to find the agreement. On the player’s end, Oristanio is prepared to sign a two-year loan deal with Cagliari.

Cagliari On The Verge Of Loaning In Inter Milan Starlet Gaetano Oristanio

Cagliari have had to find an agreement with Inter on the deal. But now, according to L’Unione Sarda, that is all but settled.

The newly-promoted side will complete the loan signing of the Nerazzurri starlet very soon, possibly even today.

They key matter that Cagliari and Inter have had to agree terms on has been the structure of the loan.

It will be a one-season loan, and then there will be a purchase option for Cagliari at the end. The Sardinians will be able to sign the young midfielder on a permanent basis for a fee of €4 million.

Then, should Cagliari exercise that clause, Inter will have a buyback option. The Nerazzurri can buy Oristanio for €6 million from Cagliari.

The 20-year-old will follow goalkeeper Simone Scuffet from Cluj, and former Sampdoria, Udinese, and Ascoli midfielder Jakub Jankto from Getafe as the Rossoblu look to make a raft of new signings available to Claudio Ranieri in the next week or so.
