Juventus could still offer Chelsea a swap deal involving striker Dusan Vlahovic in order to beat Inter Milan to sign Romelu Lukaku.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews, who report that the Bianconeri could use the 23-year-old Serbian international as their ace in the hole to win the race to sign Lukaku.
Inter are really starting to accelerate in their efforts to sign Lukaku from Chelsea.
The Nerazzurri have still not had an offer accepted by the Belgian’s club. However, they are getting closer and closer to meeting the Blues’ valuation.
And Inter are hoping that they can secure a deal by some time early next week.
Inter do not want to wait much longer. Their preseason training is already underway, and later this month they head out on a tour of Japan.
The Nerazzurri will want to have Lukaku at the disposal of coach Simone Inzaghi very soon.
However, a major obstacle that could present itself is the competition of Juventus to jump in and sign the Belgian.
Inter Milan Could Offer Vlahovic To Chelsea To Complete Shock Deal For Lukaku
One way or the other, the fate of Dusan Vlahovic would be a key part of whether Juventus can move for Lukaku or not.
If the Serb is to leave the Allianz Stadium this summer, the Bianconeri would see the 30-year-old Chelsea striker as a replacement.
This does not necessarily entail a like-for-like swap deal with Chelsea for Vlahovic.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly keen on signing the 23-year-old Juventus striker if Kylian Mbappe leaves this summer.
If this were to happen, then the Bianconeri would have the cash on hand from the fee to make a high enough offer for Lukaku.
But, on the other hand, a swap deal also cannot be ruled out. According to the Corriere della Sera, Juventus are still considering making such an offer to the Blues.
