Inter Milan could wrap up the signing of striker Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea by Monday, after selling Andre Onana to Man United.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Blues could be willing to accept an offer of around €35 million to sell the Belgian, which the Nerazzurri are ready to make after completing a sale of Onana.

Inter’s summer transfer plans appear to be decisively accelerating.

The sale of Andre Onana to Manchester United now looks to be only a matter of time. The Nerazzurri will receive a fee of around €55 million for the Cameroonian all told.

This will be enough for Inter to move for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer as his replacements.

And moreover, the Gazzetta report, Onana’s sale means that Inter can finally make the decisive move to bring back Lukaku.

Inter Milan & Chelsea Could Finalize Lukaku Talks Early Next Week

So far, Inter have faced rejection on all loan offers for Lukaku. They have therefore switched to making straight cash bids to sign the Belgian on a permanent basis.

Chelsea have rejected Inter’s highest offer to date, around €30 million plus add-ons.

However, the Gazzetta reports, when Onana’s sale becomes official, Inter will press forward with what they hope is a decisive bid.

According to the newspaper, Lukaku’s representatives Roc Nation will deliver a new bid to Chelsea soon.

The Nerazzurri will put €35 million on the plate to finally get a deal over the line to sign Lukaku. With add-ons, this amount could rise to right around €40 million.

Inter don’t want to wait around too much longer. They know that the interest of Juventus and even Al-Hilal still lurks in the background.

As such, Inter will look to wrap up talks quickly now that Onana looks all set to leave for a big fee.

According to the Gazzetta, Monday could be the day that Inter and Chelsea finally shake hands on a deal.
