Inter Milan are looking at young Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin as a possible replacement if they sell Andre Onana.
This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Nerazzurri could be assisted in trying to sign the 21-year-old by his contract situation at Shakhtar.
Right now, Onana seems to have one foot at Inter and another at Man United.
The Nerazzurri aren’t sure if the Red Devils will make the decisive move to sign the Cameroonian. However, if the right offer arrives they are ready to sell him.
Accordingly, the Nerazzurri are preparing for the possible departure of their starting keeper. Their search for replacements is in full swing.
Inter Add Shakhtar Star Trubin To List Of Onana Replacements
Meanwhile, Inter are also keen on Valencia keeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. However, Los Che are demanding €30 million for the 22-year-old Georgian international, which is putting the Nerazzurri off.
In the meantime, the Nerazzurri are tracking all of Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer, Nottingham Forest’s Keylor Navas, and Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris. They could well decide to seek a more experienced profile.
However, there are other options among young keepers who could cost less than Mamardashvili.
Chief among them, the Gazzetta, may be Shakhtar star Trubin.
Despite being aged only 21, Trubin is already a regular for the Ukrainian national team. He has emerged as the successor to Shakhtar legend Andriy Pyatov at international level.
However, the Ukraine will not follow in Pyatov’s footsteps for his club in all likelihood.
Rather, the Gazzetta report, he has not opened up to contract extension talks with the Ukrainian giants.
Considering Trubin’s contract with Shakhtar runs out at the end of next June, that would make this summer their last chance to cash in.
According to the Gazzetta, Shakhtar have already rejected a €6 million bid from Udinese. However, Inter could reinvest part of a fee for Onana if they sell the Cameroonian.
