Andre Onana is feeling sad about leaving Inter Milan, and hoping that he can return one day.

This according to Italian journalist Matteo Barzaghi, who reported on Sky Sport Italia via FCInter1908 that the 27-year-old is having some conflicted feelings now that his transfer to Manchester United looks to be only a matter of time.

As of yet, nothing is official. Onana is still an Inter player, and is even training with the Nerazzurri squad.

However, it all looks to be only a matter of time. The Nerazzurri and United have been working out a deal to sell the Cameroonian to the Premier League club.

By all accounts, Onana will officially complete the switch to Old Trafford some time in the next few days.

The player has agreed terms on a five-year contract with the Red Devils. He is prepared to start the next chapter in his career, playing under his former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag.

This brings Onana’s Inter adventure to an end far sooner than almost anyone would have expected. The 27-year-old joined the Nerazzurri just twelve months ago.

But this time at the club has still made an impact on the player, who does not leave without regret.

Andre Onana Feeling Sad About Departing From Inter Milan

Reporting from Inter’s training ground, journalist Barzaghi stated that “Today, all eyes are on Andre. He got here at 9:20 am. The fans are, of course, asking him to stay.”

“He’s certainly happy to have the chance to join United, where he will also be in for a pay raise,” Barzaghi noted. “But he’s also a little sad because he’s been feeling very happy in Milano.”

“He’s won two trophies here, reached the Champions League final, and he has a great rapport with everyone, the club, the players, the city.”

“He also hopes to return here in the distant future, who knows what’ll happen,” Barzaghi added.
