Inter Milan Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello has revealed that the Nerazzurri’s one-year main shirt sponsorship deal with Paramount+ could be extended.
Speaking to Italian business newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, via Calcio e Finanza, the Nerazzurri executive explained the new partnership.
It’s official – US-based streaming service Paramount+ will be the main shirt sponsor for Inter during the 2023-24 season.
Yesterday, the Nerazzurri unveiled the new home kit, with the streaming service’s logo on the front.
This will be the third season that Inter head into with a different main shirt sponsor. The Nerazzurri have already had Socios.com and DigitalBits as main shirt sponsors following the end of their long partnership with Pirelli.
This had already been anticipated for a number of days, as reports emerged that negotiations with Paramount+ were advancing.
However, from those reports it seemed to leak that Inter were on the verge of signing a three-year deal with the streaming service.
Instead, it will only be a one-year deal.
Antonello: Inter Milan Deal With Paramount+ Lasts One Year But Could Be Extended
Inter Corporate CEO Antonello has revealed that there is no reason that the partnership won’t be extended past the end of the 2023-24 season.
“For now, the contract lasts one year,” he said. “But it cannot be excluded that it will be extended during the upcoming year.”
Inter had not initially been expected to keep Paramount+ as their main shirt sponsor at all.
The streaming service had put their logo on the Nerazzurri’s shirt in the finale of last season. This included the Champions League final against Manchester City.
However, Inter have made the unexpected decision to keep the company’s logo for another full season. This comes after all other negotiations with prospective partners came to nothing.
Inter were in talks with multiple prospective partners. There were reported negotiations with all of Korean Air, Wizz Air, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, LeoVegas, Binance, and Hisense.
However, none of these rounds of talks came to anything.
As such, Inter returned to the table with Paramount+. The streaming service had initially be slated to stay on as the back shirt sponsor for next season.
