Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness has confirmed that Inter Milan target Yann Sommer could leave the Allianz Arena this summer.

Speaking to German broadcaster Sport1, via FCInterNews, Hoeness made clear that the Bavarians would be willing to consider offers for the Swiss international, who Inter have reportedly made a major target in the wake of Andre Onana’s expected departure.

Inter look to be on the verge of completing a sale of Onana to Manchester United.

Whilst the Cameroonian is still, technically, a Nerazzurri player, that won’t be the case for much longer.

Reports suggest that Onana could make the move official as early as tomorrow.

Then, Inter won’t want to waste any time in going after a replacement. Particularly considering that captain Samir Handanovic has also already departed.

And one player who the Nerazzurri have identified as a goalkeeping reinforcement is Bayern keeper Sommer.

Bayern President Inter Milan Confirms Yann Sommer Could Be On The Move

Reports suggest that Inter are already some way towards making a deal to sign Sommer.

The Swiss international is the player they consider to be a reliable option in goal who can take over with Onana on the way out.

And the Nerazzurri will reportedly move fast now that Onana’s departure to United is imminent.

Key to Inter’s pursuit of Sommer is the presence of a release clause in the 34-year-old’s contract with Bayern.

The Swiss joined the Bavarians from Borussia Monchengladbach in the January transfer window of the season just gone. According to reports, he has a release clause in his deal worth around €6 million.

Hoeness admitted that “As you know, he has a clause in his contract that would allow him to leave if he wants to.”

“It will depend on how we handle the situation,” he continued.

“We will have ongoing talks with him,” Hoeness said of the keeper. “We’ve opened up the dialogue with him.”

He then noted that “We will consider offers that we see as sufficient.”
