Inter Milan are close to completing a move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer, and working on one for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper reports that the Nerazzurri have everything in place as far as their succession plan for Andre Onana.

Inter and Manchester United are just about ready to complete the deal for Onana.

Both clubs want the deal to happen soon, and it should reportedly go through in the next couple days.

Now, the Nerazzurri are already hard at work on signing replacements for the Cameroonian as well as captain Samir Handanovic.

Bayern keeper Yann Sommer is top of Inter’s list in terms of an experienced keeper.

And the move for the Swiss international is not far away at all, reports the Corriere.

Inter can pay the €6 million release clause in Sommer’s contract with the German champions.

Moreover, the Corriere reports, a possible delayed return for Bayern captain Manuel Neuer will change little about Inter’s pursuit. The German champions will go after Giorgi Mamardashvili and not make any great effort to keep hold of Sommer.

Inter Milan Close To Signing Sommer – Different Story For Trubin

As far as Inter’s efforts to sign Shakhtar keeper Anatoliy Trubin go, however, things look trickier.

The situation remains that Inter do not want to pay anywhere near Shakhtar’s asking price.

The Nerazzurri expect to pay around €10-12 million to sign Trubin. They believe that the fact that the 21-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of next June can give them the leverage to agree a deal on that basis.

However, Shakhtar are still holding out for a big fee.

If the Ukrainian club dig in their heels on a fee of €30 million, or even €20 million, Inter will look elsewhere.

The Correire report that Sampdoria keeper Emil Audero is the Nerazzurri’s main alternative to Trubin.
