Inter Milan could move to sign Sampdoria goalkeeper Emil Audero if they’re unable to secure a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are trying to sign Shakhtar keeper Trubin as their replacement for Andre Onana.

With Onana now one step away from joining Manchester United, the Nerazzurri are getting their succession plan in place. 21-year-old Ukrainian international Trubin has been the player they’ve been working to sign for a couple weeks now.

As far as the player’s end, Inter have all the necessary agreements with Trubin.

The young Ukrainian international wants to join the Nerazzurri for next season.

However, with the young keeper’s club, it is a different story. Shakhtar are still asking for a fee of €30 million for Trubin according to Tuttosport.

The fact that the Ukrainian’s contract runs out at the end of next June hasn’t caused them to lower their demands thus far. Thusly, the distance between their price tag and Inter’s intention to offer no higher than €12 million is massive.

Inter Milan Could Go For Sampdoria Keeper Audero If Trubin Is Off The Table

Clearly, if Inter cannot make up that gap with Shakhtar, they will not be able to sign Trubin.

At the moment, the Ukrainian giants are digging in their heels. They want to cash in on the 21-year-old for a big fee despite his contract situation.

Recognizing this, Inter are also starting to come up with alternative plans.

One possible target for the Nerazzurri is Sampdoria keeper Emil Audero.

The 26-year-old will almost certainly leave the Blucerchiati this summer. With the Ligurians having been relegated to Serie B, he would look to join a club in the top flight.

According to Tuttosport, Inter could sign Audero in addition to veteran Bayern Munich goalkeeper Yann Sommer.
