Inter Milan are stalling in their pursuit of Ukrainian goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin as Shakhtar Donetsk continue to hold out for a high fee.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are lining up Sampdoria’s Emil Audero as an alternative to the 21-year-old as Shakhtar have not budged on their €30 million asking price.

As far as the player’s end, Inter have all the necessary agreements with Trubin.

The young Ukrainian international wants to join the Nerazzurri for next season.

However, with the young keeper’s club, it is a different story. Shakhtar are still asking for a fee of €30 million for Trubin, report the Corriere.

The fact that the Ukrainian’s contract runs out at the end of next June hasn’t caused them to lower their demands thus far. Thusly, the distance between their price tag and Inter’s intention to offer no higher than €12 million is massive.

Inter Milan Could Sign Audero This Summer & Move For Trubin On A Free In 12 Months

According to the Corriere, if Shakhtar don’t come down significantly in their asking price, Inter could be in for a strategy.

The Nerazzurri could aim to sign Emil Audero from relegated Sampdoria this summer.

The 26-year-old would join to complete the goalkeeping positions along with Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer for the upcoming season.

Then, next summer, Inter would return to the pursuit of Trubin. With the Ukrainian out of contract, the Nerazzurri would aim to sign him for nothing.

Bayern Munich Ready To Offer Discount For Yann Sommer

The Corriere also report that Inter are moving along in their pursuit of Bayern keeper Sommer.

According to the newspaper, the German champions are ready to sell the 34-year-old for a fee of €5 million. This could be just the discount that Inter need to go right ahead.

The Bavarians are reportedly targeting Giorgi Mamardashvili to replace Sommer.
