Inter Milan are right on the verge of signing Yann Sommer, but still have a long way to go to sign Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri can quickly close on a deal to sign Bayern Munich keeper Sommer, but that negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk for Trubin could still be uphill.

Inter will soon complete a sale of Andre Onana to Manchester United.

Now the Nerazzurri are getting straight to work on bringing in replacements for the Cameroonian, as well as for Samir Handanovic.

The Nerazzurri know exactly who they will target – Sommer and Trubin.

However, the Gazzetta report, Inter’s pursuits of the two keepers are currently in very different stages.

Inter Can Wrap Up Agreement With Bayern Munich For Yann Sommer Quickly

On the Sommer front, Inter are helped greatly by the fact that the Swiss international has a release clause in his contract with Bayern.

The Nerazzurri can simply pay €6 million to Bayern and get their man.

The Gazzetta report that Inter are still negotiating with Bayern. They want to see if they can lower this fee a bit.

However, if the Bavarians make clear that it’s the release clause or nothing, that will be it. Inter are prepared to pay the full amount so they can get their man.

With the player, Inter have already agreed terms. The Gazzetta report that the 34-year-old is ready to sign a four-year deal with Inter.

Sommer is prepared to take a pay cut to join the Nerazzurri, with €3 million net per season the wages on the table.

Negotiations With Shakhtar For Anatoliy Trubin Still Tricky

If Inter’s pursuit of Sommer looks straightforward, for Trubin things appear quite the opposite.

Inter are dead set on getting a deal done for €10 million plus add-ons. This is nowhere near enough for Shakhtar at the moment.

However, the Nerazzurri will push hard to sign the Ukrainian international.

Their hope is that by simply digging in their heels they will eventually break Shakhtar’s resolve. Trubin is out of contract with the Ukrainian club next summer, and has made clear that he wants Inter.
