Saudi Pro League clubs are ready to join Inter Milan in the race to sign Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who report that representatives of clubs from the Saudi top flight held a meeting in London to sound out a potential transfer for the 21-year-old Ukrainian international.

Inter are trying to sign Shakhtar keeper Trubin as their replacement for Andre Onana.

With Onana now one step away from joining Manchester United, the Nerazzurri are getting their succession plan in place. 21-year-old Ukrainian international Trubin has been the player they’ve been working to sign for a couple weeks now.

As far as the player’s end, Inter have all the necessary agreements with Trubin.

The young Ukrainian international wants to join the Nerazzurri for next season.

However, with the young keeper’s club, it is a different story. Shakhtar are reportedly holding out for a high fee to sell their young goalkeeper.

Saudi Clubs Sound Out Move For Inter Milan Target Anatoliy Trubin

And Inter could face a further obstacle in their pursuit of Trubin in the form of a big money offer from the Saudi Pro League.

To date, the Ukrainian has reportedly rejected offers from the Premier League. Trubin has been prioritizing a move to Inter.

However, an offer from Saudi Arabia could certainly present a temptation. Numerous top players from European football have already decided to leave for the Saudi Pro League.

TMW do not specify any offers made to Trubin. However, the wages on offer would presumably be massive. Moreover, Saudi Pro League clubs would have far less trouble than Inter offering a satisfactory fee to Shakhtar.

Therefore, the meeting between Saudi Pro League representatives and those of Trubin could be ominous for Inter.

However, at this stage there is little concrete beyond that a meeting occurred.
