Inter Milan linked Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun feels that he’s ready to play regularly at a high level after impressing during his loan spell at Reims.

Speaking from Arsenal’s preseason training camp, via FCInter1908, the 22-year-old US international gave his thoughts on his future.

Balogun looks to have emerged as one of Inter’s main striker targets after they pulled the plug on a move for Romelu Lukaku.

Whilst at 22 the American is still young, he is a player the Nerazzurri are ready to bet on.

Balogun’s loan spell at Reims last season proved to be a real breakout campaign for the Arsenal-owned striker.

Prior to last season, the US international had never quite found his feet within the senior game. But 22 goals scored for Reims in a single season certainly makes it look as though Balogun has finally hit the ground running.

Now the young striker’s future will be a big question.

The 22-year-old is currently back at Arsenal. But there are questions about how many chances Balogun will get to play given the plethora of top-class attacking options currently available to Gunners coach Mikel Arteta.

Therefore, another move away could be the best for Balogun’s star to really shine.

Moreover, Balogun has indicated that he has no intention of leaving on another loan move. If he joins a new club, the 22-year-old would intend for it to be a permanent transfer.

“I obviously went away and the point was to prove I could play first team football,” he said.

“I feel I was able to do that and show people I can play at that level.”

Balogun then continued that “I think with me coming back it’s not really much of a situation where I think I need to try extra hard to prove something, I think it’s a decision that’s not really with me.”

“Whatever happens, I’m cool with it,” the 22-year-old added.
