Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku could make a surprise turnaround and accept a move to Al-Hilal after talks with Inter Milan collapsed.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

The rug has been pulled out from Lukaku at this point.

For weeks, it had looked as though Inter and Lukaku were on the same page in trying to secure his move back to the San Siro from Chelsea.

Then, right when it looked as though the Nerazzurri had finally agreed a deal with the Blues, they discovered the extend of the Belgian’s negotiations with Juventus.

This enraged Inter, who pulled the plug on talks immediately. The abrupt end to the saga arrived as Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio informed Lukaku in a short phone call.

With Inter now off the table, the 30-year-old is left asking – what now?

Romelu Lukaku Could Make Al-Hilal U-Turn After Inter Milan Talks Implode

With the transfer talks with Inter having fallen through in the most spectacular of fashion, Lukaku is now scrambling to consider his next move.

A future at Chelsea looks unlikely. The Blues have left Lukaku behind on their preseason tour of the US, and he appears frozen out under Mauricio Pochettino.

Naturally, Juventus would seem to be on the table. It is, after all, the Belgian’s transfer talks with the Bianconeri that permanently soured his relationship with Inter.

But a move by the Bianconeri to sign Lukaku is hardly a foregone conclusion.

The Turin giants would certainly have to move Dusan Vlahovic on before they can consider taking the plunge.

And then, Juventus may simply decide to go after other targets.

Alternatively, Lukaku and his agent Sebastien Ledure could contemplate other possibilities in Europe. There is still time to scan the market.

But there’s another possibility. Al-Hilal always represent an option.

Previously, Lukaku had firmly closed the door to the Saudi Pro League.

That came, however, when the 30-year-old seemed to be pushing for a move to Inter. With the Nerazzurri no longer an option, the Belgian may well soften his stance.

Were he to do so, Lukaku could earn truly gargantuan wages of €30 million net per season.

And for their part, Chelsea have always preferred selling Lukaku to Al-Hilal.

The Saudi team are ready to offer the Blues a straight cash fee of €58 million for the Belgian. That is far more than the maximum €40 million that could arrive from Juventus.

Therefore, it would no longer seem quite so certain to rule out a move to the Saudi Pro League in Lukaku’s future.
