Inter Milan have made Udinese striker Beto their Plan B to signing Alvaro Morata.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have lined the Portuguese up as their main alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

Inter are still trying to go after Atletico striker Morata.

For now, the 30-year-old Spanish international appears to be the Nerazzurri’s top target in attack after the end of their pursuit of Romelu Lukaku.

However, Inter face one particularly significant obstacle in trying to sign Morata – the price tag.

Mediaset confirm that Atletico have absolutely no intention of slashing their asking price down from €21 million. That is amount that the La Liga giants will need to avoid taking a capital loss on his sale.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are still mulling it over.

Whilst Inter see Morata as an ideal solution on the pitch, the Spaniard’s age means that they are wary of overpaying.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri are also looking at a younger alternative.

Inter Milan See Beto As Alvaro Morata Plan B – AC Milan In The Hunt Too

Having joined Udinese from Portimonense in the summer of 2021, Beto has thrived in Serie A.

The Portuguese has hit double digits in his goal tally in each of his first two seasons in the Italian top flight.

Moreover, Beto has been a real point of reference in attack for the Friulani. Apart from his size and strength, the 25-year-old has looked adept at holding off defenders and knowing when to find teammates.

Inter feel that the Udinese striker would be a fairly like-for-like alternative to signing Morata.

However, Beto will not come cheap.

Mediaset report that Udinese will demand no less than €30 million for their first-choice striker.

Meanwhile, Inter also face the competition of city rivals AC Milan for the Portuguese’s signature.
