Atletico Madrid have made clear to Inter Milan that they want €21 million for Alvaro Morata – take it or leave it.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Colchoneros will do a deal at that price, but that they’ve indicated there’s no chance of offering any discounts.

Yesterday, Inter met with the agents of Atletico Madrid striker Morata.

The Nerazzurri made their intention to try and sign the 30-year-old former Juventus, Chelsea, and Real Madrid man clear.

Inter both sounded out the player’s interest in a move, and also the conditions of a deal with Atletico.

The Spaniard is currently Inter’s top target in attack. They’ve been aiming to move forward in a deal after talks for Romelu Lukaku fell through in dramatic fashion.

However, the Nerazzurri’s decision could come down to the price tag for former Juventus, Chelsea, and Real Madrid striker Morata.

Because if Inter want to chip down Atletico on a fee, that may prove impossible.

Atletico Madrid To Hold Firm On €21M Price Tag For Alvaro Morata

The Gazzetta report that Atletico have specifically set the price tag of €21 million because that’s the fee that it would take for them to sell Morata without taking a capital loss.

Accordingly, at that amount, Atletico would need little convincing.

The La Liga giants would be happy to sell the Spaniard.

But anything lower and the Colchoneros are unlikely to consider it.

So Inter’s pursuit of Morata may come down to how willing they are to meet Atletico’s firm asking price.

And if Inter do pull the plug on their pursuit of Morata over the price tag, they have other targets as well.

The Nerazzurri could go in a very different direction from signing the experienced Morata by moving for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun..

The 22-year-old US international would not be cheap, and is still at an early stage of his career. However, Inter feel that Balogun’s loan spell with Reims last season is enough evidence to invest in him.

Also on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist is Udinese striker Beto.

The 25-year-old does have a couple seasons of experience in Serie A, but is also five years younger than Morata.

Lastly, Inter are also considering Porto and Iran striker Mehdi Taremi a target. However, the Gazzetta reports, the 30-year-old is less of a priority than other options.
