Inter Milan have lined up Sampdoria’s Emil Audero as their Plan B if they’re unable to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are now moving full speed ahead with their transfer plans in goal now that Andre Onana is all but gone.

One player who the Nerazzurri are closing in on is Bayern Munich keeper Yann Sommer.

The Swiss former Borussia Monchengladbach man should arrive any day now. The Nerazzurri aim to have Sommer in their squad for their upcoming tour of Japan.

However, Sommer will not be the only goalkeeper who Inter sign before the summer transfer window closes.

Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic has also said goodbye. Therefore, the Nerazzurri will also aim to replace the Slovenian.

And Inter’s plan has long looked clear – to sign one experienced keeper and one who is younger and has room to grow.

If 34-year-old veteran Swiss international Sommer fits the former criteria, the Nerazzurri are still working on signing a player who is suitable for the latter.

Trubin Inter’s Plan A – Audero The Plan B Option

For some time now, Inter have been going after Shakhtar keeper Trubin.

There is no question that the 21-year-old is the Nerazzurri’s priority target in terms of a young goalkeeper.

However, the big question mark hovering over Inter’s chase of Trubin is the matter of agreeing a fee with Shakhtar.

The Ukrainian club set the initial asking price for Trubin at €30 million. Inter consider this extremely steep considering the young keeper’s contract runs out at the end of next June.

Therefore, the coming days should see some clarity regarding whether Inter can drag Shakhtar’s fee back down to earth.

If not, the Nerazzurri will not sign Trubin.

And, the Corriere report, Inter already know who their next target in line would be.

Goalkeeper Emil Audero looks all but certain to leave Sampdoria after the Ligurians suffered relegation to Serie B last season.

Inter would be ready to move for the 26-year-old should they miss out on Trubin.
