Inter Milan have made an offer to Atletico Madrid for Alvaro Morata, but Roma are still favourites for his signature.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corrierre dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri have made their bid of €13 million plus add-ons, whilst the Giallorossi contemplate their next move.

Yesterday, Inter met with the agents of Atletico Madrid striker Morata.

The Nerazzurri made their intention to try and sign the 30-year-old former Juventus, Chelsea, and Real Madrid man clear.

Inter both sounded out the player’s interest in a move, and also the conditions of a deal with Atletico.

The Spaniard is currently Inter’s top target in attack. They’ve been aiming to move forward in a deal after talks for Romelu Lukaku fell through in dramatic fashion.

The Corriere report that Inter have already conveyed their offer to Atletico. They are ready to pay €13 million, plus an addition couple of million in add-ons, right away.

The Colchoneros, however, are still holding out for €20.5 million. This is the amount that would allow them to sell Morata without taking a capital loss.

Inter Make Offer For Alvaro Morata – But Roma Still Lead The Way

According to the Corriere, however, Inter have not really gotten into pole position to sign Morata yet.

The newspaper report that Roma are still the club best-placed to complete a deal.

The Giallorossi have been pursuing a deal for Morata for some time now. The former Juventus, Chelsea, and Real Madrid star is a priority target for Roma coach Jose Mourinho.

However, the key matter could be whether Roma are willing to reach Atletico’s asking price with an offer.

Given Morata’s age, that would be a big investment for a team in the Giallorossi’s financial position.

If Roma do decide to stump up the cash, however, the Corriere reports that the most likely destination for Morata is the Italian capital.
