Inter Milan are in continued talks with Udinese for Lazar Samardzic.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Friulani could be interested in a deal that contains young midfielder Giovanni Fabbian going the other way, although the Nerazzurri would then insist on a buyback option.

Inter have already signed one midfielder this summer – Davide Frattesi.

However, the 23-year-old is not likely to be the only midfielder that the Nerazzurri sign. Roberto Gagliardini has left without being replace, and so a replacement will have to come in for the 29-year-old to ensure sufficient depth in the positions.

And widespread reports suggest that Inter’s intention is to sign a young player.

Rather than replacing Gagliardini with an experienced and low-cost signing, the Nerazzurri want to invest in a prospect with room to grow.

And according to FCIN, Udinese midfielder Samardzic is exactly the player who they have in mind.

Inter Milan Continue Talks With Udinese To Try & Sign Samardzic

According to FCIN, the talks between Inter and Udinese regarding Samardzic are very much ongoing.

The Nerazzurri want to find a way to bring the former RB Leipzig midfielder in.

Meeting Udinese’s asking price for Samardzic won’t be easy. The Friulani know the quality of the player they have on their hands, and will aim for a fee of at least €25 million.

However, Inter’s strategy could revolve around offering a player going the other way in addition to a fee.

In this sense, there is a clear candidate.

FCIN report that Udinese have expressed serious interest in young Inter midfielder Giovanni Fabbian.

And according to the outlet, the Nerazzurri would consider sending the 20-year-old to the Dacia Arena if it is part of a deal for Samardzic.

However, the outlet reports, Inter would not do so if it meant losing control of Fabbian permanently. Inter see the young midfielder as an important prospect for the future.

According to FCIN, Inter would insist on a buyback clause in the deal, potentially for a couple years down the line.

On the other hand, FCIN reports, whilst Stefano Sensi is a player who Udinese might be interested in, the 27-year-old’s wages would be too high for them.

And as for Sebastiano Esposito, the Friulani still consider the striker to be too raw. They don’t want him as part of a deal for Samardzic.
