Inter Milan will try to sign Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin this summer, but could also wait to do so for free in twelve months.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that if the Nerazzurri cannot do a deal for the 21-year-old this summer, they may well move on to trying to sign Sampdoria keeper Emil Audero instead of him.
At the moment, Inter are trying to move on a couple fronts as far as the goalkeeping positions are concerned.
On the one hand, the Nerazzurri are trying to make a transfer of Yann Sommer from Bayern Munich happen as soon as possible.
Sommer is ready to sign a two-year deal worth €2.8 million net per season, reports FCIN.
But the former Borussia Monchengladbach man is not the only keeper who Inter will be going after.
FCIN report that Inter’s pursuit of Trubin is very much on. But if they cannot get Shakhtar to come down on the fee they’re demanding, the Nerazzurri could very well wait to sign the Ukrainian.
Inter Could Move For Audero This Summer & Trubin Next Summer
The fact remains that Inter and Shakhtar are miles apart on the fee for Trubin.
The Nerazzurri have shown zero inclination to go much above €10 million in an offer for the 21-year-old. They feel that the fact that Trubin is out of contract next summer should mean the fee is not too high.
But Shakhtar are not on the same page. The Urkainian club still want to cash in for a big fee.
But if Shakhtar dig in their heels on the fee, FCIN report, Inter could pursue the same strategy they did to sign Andre Onana.
The Nerazzurri have been in contact with the Cameroonian and his representatives long before his contract with Ajax expired last summer.
The Nerazzurri were never able to work out a deal with Ajax to sign Onana. But they did have the player’s go-ahead for a long time.
Months in advance, Inter secured the agreement with the goalkeeper that he would join once his contact with Ajax ran out.
And then, last summer, the Nerazzurri did just that. And they have sold the 27-year-old on for a big fee to Manchester United.
With Trubin, then, Inter could try something similar. They already know that the player is keen to make the move this summer.
But if there is no agreement on a fee with Shakhtar, the Nerazzurri could simply wait and hope that Trubin continues to want to join in twelve months’ time.
Then, starting next January, Inter can start working out the details of the Ukrainian international’s detail. And at the end of next June, they can sign him officially, without having to involve Shakhtar.
Inter do, however, want to sign two more keepers before the window is through.
Therefore, FCIN report, the Nerazzurri could go for a move for Sampdoria’s Emil Audero in the meantime.
