Hellas Verona have inquired about the possibility of signing Inter Milan striker Sebastiano Esposito this summer.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported live on air via FCInterNews that the Gialloblu have made initial contacts with the Nerazzurri to ask about the 21-year-old striker’s availability.

Inter striker Esposito is a player whose future currently looks up in the air.

Last season, the Italy youth international went out on two separate loan spells.

Over the first half of the campaign, he played for Anderlecht in the Belgian top flight. Then, during the January transfer window, Esposito made the switch to Bari in Serie B, where he spent the remainder of the campaign on loan.

The season before then, Esposito had played for Basel on loan.

And prior to that, the Italian played in two different loan spells in Serie B, with SPAL and Venezia.

Esposito is hardly a player who has a likely role in Inter’s first team this season. Therefore, the Nerazzurri will look for a new team for the 21-year-old, whether it is on loan or in a permanent sale.

Reportedly, Inter are even considering offering Esposito to Udinese as part of a player-plus-cash bid for midfielder Lazar Samardzic.

According to Pedulla, a new club have come into the frame for Esposito’s signature.

Hellas Verona are aiming to reinforce their squad for another season in Serie A after narrowly avoiding relegation to the second tier.

Last season, the Gialloblu finished level on points with Spezia in the third relegation spot. The Gialloblu only managed to remain in the top flight by beating the Ligurians in a one-off relegation playoff.

This summer, Verona have appointed coach Marco Baroni from Lecce.

And now, the Venetians are aiming to add new players at Baroni’s disposals.

Riccardo Saponara has already arrived from Fiorentina.

And, according to Pedulla, the Gialloblu have also made an initial approach to see if they can also give their new coach a striker in the form of Esposito.
