Inter Milan have made signing Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic a priority for the summer transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri continue to press to make the 21-year-old former RB Leipzig man their final midfield signing of the summer.

Inter have already signed one midfielder this summer – Davide Frattesi.

However, the 23-year-old is not likely to be the only midfielder that the Nerazzurri sign. Roberto Gagliardini has left without being replace, and so a replacement will have to come in for the 29-year-old to ensure sufficient depth in the positions.

And widespread reports suggest that Inter’s intention is to sign a young player.

Rather than replacing Gagliardini with an experienced and low-cost signing, the Nerazzurri want to invest in a prospect with room to grow.

And according to the Gazzetta, Inter are still clear in who they want to tick this box.

The Nerazzurri continue to see a move for Samardzic as a major priority.

Inter Milan Want To Sign Udinese Midfielder Lazar Samardzic

Signing Samardzic won’t be straightforward.

Competition for the 21-year-old’s signature will certainly mean that Udinese want a high fee – he is also on the radar of Napoli and AC Milan.

But Inter could decide to allocate a significant chunk of their remaining budget for the summer transfer window.

The sale of Andre Onana has hardly given Inter an unlimited transfer war chest to work with. But it has provided a good deal of cash.

According to the Gazzetta, Atalanta defender Rafael Toloi is Inter’s main target to replace Milan Skriniar at this stage.

And in attack, Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi’s preferred signing is Alvaro Morata.

If Inter are to concentrate on lower-cost deals in other positions, then they could make a move for Samardzic happen in midfield.
