Simone Inzaghi wants to bring Alvaro Morata to Inter Milan, whilst Piero Ausilio prefers a move for Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri coach and Sporting Director are of different minds regarding which striker the club should sign for next season.

Inter’s search for a striker for next season is still ongoing.

But with just a little over a month to go before the transfer window closes, the Nerazzurri must get a move on.

Yesterday the club’s directors plus Inzaghi held a meeting to discuss their strategy.

And according to the Corriere, there was disagreement on how Inter should proceed.

Inzaghi Wants Morata, Ausilio Wants Balogun

According to the Corriere, Inzaghi continues to lean towards a move for Atletico striker Morata.

The 30-year-old Spanish international is a known quantity in Serie A. His two separate spells in the league with Juventus mean that there is little question of Morata having to make any adjustments to the style and tactics of the league, or the language and culture of Italy.

Moreover, Morata would be a reliable target man who would meet Inzaghi’s requirements for a striker.

On the other hand, Ausilio is thinking about different priorities.

The Nerazzurri Sporting Director wants to make a young player with a lot of room to grow the next striker signing.

And Ausiolio has a specific name in mind – Balogun. The 22-year-old US international convinced the Inter executive with his performances for Reims last season.

Ausilio does not want to make a significant investment in Morata. The former Bianconeri, Chelsea, and Real Madrid striker does after all turn 31 next season.

Whilst Inzaghi wants Morata to make an immediate impact, Ausilio’s focus is more on the seasons to come.

The Inter Sporting Director believes that with time, Balogun can become a top-level striker, and would be the better investment for the future.
